Ethiopia Gargari Gutiti
This Ethiopian coffee comes from the Gedeb district which is part of the world-famous coffee growing region of Yirgacheffe. The high-altitudes, fertile soil, consistent weather and long history of local coffee growing in this area contributes to its great reputation.
Gargari Gutiti is the washing station where the folks at Primrose have been experimenting with different methods of coffee processing for many years. This coffee is processed in a ‘supernatural’ way. Natural processing requires the coffee to lie out in raised drying beds with the cherries intact. During a supernatural process, the coffee cherries are left on racks in a semi-permeable box which restricts light and air for a prolonged period of time. This longer drying time allows the sugars in the coffee to naturally ferment resulting in a sweeter and interesting cup of coffee.
As a light roast with fruit-like tasting notes, this one is best served black! Perfect for filter brewing, Aeropress or cold brew.
